Prevents metal to metal contact between piston/rod and bore/gland and absorbs transverse loads. Filled PTFE material gives good load capacity with low friction and stick-slip-free operation. Simple grove design protects critical sealing lips from contamination and dieseling effects. Cost effective, allows designers freedom in hardware material selection. Higher static loads are permissible.

PTFE Guide Strips:
The function of the Guiding Tape is to guide the piston and rod of a hydraulic cylinder and to absorb the transverse forces which occur. At the same time, metallic contact between the sliding parts of the cylinder, e.g. piston and cylinder barrel or rod and cylinder head, must be prevented. Non-metallic guide rings offer major benefits compared with the traditional metallic guides,
